Sorry everyone!

I know that I don't have many followers, but that being said, I'm sorry that I haven't been writing AT ALL as of late.  Things have been hectic in my life, and so this has been neglected.  However, I'm trying to change that. 

I've also started using twitter.  Now, I'm not all that familiar with how twitter works, so bear with me as I learn the ropes.

Easy A

I just finished watching this movie and found it totally adorable and wonderful.  It combines the themes from The Scarlet Letter and applies it to a modern day high school.  Homage was paid highly to John Hughes, particularly the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, complete with a shower mohawk.  Also included are mentions of my two favorite 80s boyfriends: Lloyn Dobbler, and the ever sexy and perfect Jake Ryan. 

I think my favorite line in the whole movie, which was just totally rad was: "Gossip Girl in the Sweet Valley High of Traveling Pants"

Good stuff!

I'm a slacker!

Although the week is early, it's been pretty crappy.  Car issues, etc.  I'm feeling EXTREMELY lazy, which, for those of you who know me, is not really shocking.

I finished up season 4 of Mad Men, which was fantastic.  I can't wait for season 5, but apparently, I'm going to have to wait until 2012 to see it!  Boo!

I have a TON of movies, music, and books to get to.  I love CPL and Clevnet, but damn!  Everything that I request comes in at the same time, and then I'm totally overwhelmed  with so many choices!

I'll post reviews once I get started on the huge stack I have!

Totally stoked!

So, the Willowick Library opened back up today, which is always good.  I was going to go peruse the stacks, seeing if I could come up with something new to watch/read/listen to.  I find a few things, and to my surprise, when I go up to the counter, guess what's waiting for me?

So guess where I'll be tonight?  In bed with Don Draper!  Yay!  Sooooo excited!

Interesting piece of art

One of my favorite pieces of art that I studied in college was The Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck.  We studied it for days, and the hidden meanings and subtext of the painting were fascinating to me.  I came across THIS version the other day and wanted to share it with the rest of you. 

This is Botero's version, and Botero is famous for using plus sized people in his art.  Check it out, because it's awesome!

One of my all time favorite movies!

I was at the Lakewood Public Library the other day, and I came across one of my favorite movies of all time.  I was OBSESSED with this movie in junior high, watching it at least once a week.  Watching it now, I realized I was waaaaay ahead of my time.  This movie is dark, sarcastic, and funny.  I'm going to list some of my favorite Heathers quotes below.  Feel free to add your own!

A fat man and a fat woman kiss in the supermarket.

Their juicy, pinky tongues

lean awkwardly against each other

like two rolls on the bakery counter.

While they kiss, they can’t cling to each other.

They come together at two points only:
